Introducing the new PATHWAYS learning experience

“Everyone has inside of her/him a piece of good news. The good news is that you don’t know how great you can be, what you can accomplish, and what your potential is.” (Anne Frank)

We are happy to invite you to our next BASF Toastmasters meeting (12.03.2018) that will be devoted to presentation of a new Toastmasters educational program — the Pathways Learning Experience!  Special guest Lars Droege (official PATHWAYS ambassador) will present and answers all your questions concerning the new program.  PATHWAYS is designed to develop real-world, transferable skills in many different areas such as communication, leadership, management, strategic planning, service to others, public speaking and more.  It will be comprised of 10 paths and teach more than 300 unique competencies.

As you progress through PATHWAYS you will:

  • Practice and improve your communication and leadership skills.
  • Give speeches in your Toastmasters Club based on assignments in PATHWAYS.
  • Challenge yourself to build and refine certain competencies and skills.
  • Complete a range of projects that include persuasive speaking, motivating others, creating a podcast and leading a group in a difficult situation.

We will meet at 17:45h for a “Meet and Greet”, the meeting itself starts at 18:00h in Room 149 in the Building J660.

Toastmasters BBQ @ Mannheim Luisenpark, 24 July 2017

Dear Toastmasters & Friends,
we cordially invite you, your partner & family, friends and colleagues to our “Summer Outdoor Event” at Mannheim’s Luisenpark on Monday, 24 July 2017 at 18.15 hrs.

We will meet at the BBQ area which is shown as No. 40 on the Luisenpark map. Please bring the culinary BBQ (meat, sausages, vegetarian grill food) for your own. We will send out a list for those who also want to bring a salad, bread, cakes etc. for the group

In a relaxed atmosphere with nice people and, hopefully, wonderful weather(1), we can practise our new skills:

  • the Toastmaster will become the BBQ-Master;
  • the word of the day will change to the drink of the day;
  • instead of the ah-Counter we have a “who-spoke-with-full-mouth counter”;
  • additional feedback to the food, drinks, location.

Certainly we will have a most enjoyable evening — we do hope that you will have time to come along and have fun with us. Please accept Harald BĂŒhrer’s invitation (or use our contact form) by Thursday, 20 July 2017.

The event will take place however bad the weather may be, let’s carry the sunshine in our hearts! Nevertheless Luisenpark also offers some sheltered places. There is a fee of 1,50 EUR to enter Luisenpark after 18:00.

Toastmasters Division Contest in spring 2015: The best speakers from the southwest meet near Ludwigshafen

 From Freiburg to Frankfurt and from Ramstein to Reutlingen – on May 02, 2015, the best speakers of Toastmasters Division F meet in Mannheim. Winners of the previous Area contests compete against each other in the categories “International Speech” and “Evaluation speech”. The champions can proceed to BorĂ„s / West Sweden and present their speeches from 22.05–24.05 at the District Conference (D95, Europe North / East).

All those who are already member of a Toastmasters club or perhaps would like to be, are  cordially invited to the event. It is an excellent way to get to know what Toastmasters provides: brilliant rhetoric, a warm and friendly atmosphere, inspiring exchange with others and know-how in leadership and organization. A buffet and drinks will be served. The event takes place at venue:
Buergerhaus Neckarstadt-West,
Lutherstr. 15-17, 68169 Mannheim.
